According to the Ministry of Defence, on Wednesday, October 16, Christopher “Gilly” Gill of the 4th Battalion, the Ranger Regiment, lost his life in a “non-operational incident” close to Brecon, Wales.
According to police, the health and safety executive and they are both looking into the death of the special operations soldier.
During his 13 years of service, Cpl Gill was hailed as a “remarkable” special operations soldier who assisted in training Ukrainian forces in the UK and fighters in Afghanistan.
A devoted and caring father, husband, and son have all passed away. A beloved and esteemed commander will be missed by his friends and fellow Rangers.
The Army has lost a dedicated, professional, and skilled Special Operations soldier who made a significant effect during his illustrious career and whose commitment to the team made it far better than the sum of its parts.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Infantry Battle School in Brecon “provides trained officers and soldiers to meet the operational requirements of the Infantry, the Army, and Defense.”
