The “Bijli Sahulat Package” for the winter months of December 2024 to February 2025 was unveiled by the government on Friday in an attempt to control seasonal electricity demand and boost economic growth.
A fixed cost of Rs26.07 per unit will be provided for any increased electricity demand over the baseline historical average, the Power Division said in a statement.
“This initiative aims to encourage higher consumption during the low-demand winter season by offering reduced electricity rates, acknowledging that electricity demand in Pakistan peaks during the summer and significantly decreases in the winter.”
Compared to the current rates, this package will enable households, businesses, general services, and industries to save a substantial amount of money.
The administration is dedicated to encouraging more industrial and commercial development, it added.
