I Play Rocky, a film directed by Peter Farrelly, is about the backstage life of Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, the movie that made him famous.
The director of Green Book gushed about the author of his biopic on the First Blood star’s struggles while sharing some project details.
It’s among the best scripts I’ve ever come across. The author, Peter Gamble, appeared out of nowhere. He is a USC instructor. “I got it from Toby Emmerich, who is a producer on it,” he said to Variety.
He went on, “Hey, read this script,” he added. I believe it to be unique. It’s about how Rocky was made, and I learned a lot of things. At the time he wrote that, Stallone was homeless.
