KARACHI: According to police and rescue personnel, at least four people—two of them were women—were killed and numerous others were injured in separate traffic incidents in Karachi on Friday.
At Korangi Crossing, a speeding water truck collided with a motorcycle, killing one woman and injuring another. Before the authorities could step in, the townspeople, infuriated by the disaster, set the water truck on fire.
In another instance, three people were killed when a passenger bus capsized close to the Samundari Baba temple in Gulshan-e-Hadeed. At least eight injured passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment as rescue crews raced to the site. At the time of reporting, a rescue effort was still in progress.
