As part of a massive defense review, Britain revealed Monday that it would build 12 new attack submarines to put the nation in “war-fighting readiness” against “Russian aggression” and the evolving nature of battle.
Launching the assessment in Glasgow, Prime Minister Keir Starmer issued a warning: “the threat we now face is more serious, more immediate and more unpredictable than at any time since the Cold War,” he said.
“We face war in Europe, new nuclear risks, daily cyberattacks, growing Russian aggression in our waters, menacing our skies,” he stated.
According to the Strategic Defence Review, which evaluates the dangers the UK faces and offers recommendations, “a new era of threat” is upon Britain.
