Around 2:10 a.m. this morning, a grey Volkswagen Golf was involved in a collision on Ballynahonemore Road.
At the scene, the driver and three unidentified passengers were pronounced deceased.
“This is an unspeakable tragedy for the families involved and for the wider community, who will understandably struggle to comprehend such loss of life,” stated District Commander Superintendent Paul McGrattan.
“A thorough and sensitive investigation is now under way, and anyone with information that could assist us is asked to get in touch with the collision investigation unit.”
“Police are still on the scene and Ballynahonemore Road will be closed for the majority of the day,” he continued.
“The thoughts of the entire police service are with the families, friends and loved ones of those who have lost their lives.”
In a post on news, DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson called the tragedy “devastating”.
“Heartbreaking news from Armagh,” he remarked.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the four deceased in this devastating incident.”
