The 65-year-old paid a visit to Utah’s Payson High School to meet the pupils after a multi-year effort that began on social media with the hashtag #BaconToPayson.
News sources from last month said that the school had gone completely crazy for the movie Footloose, putting on a Footloose musical, renaming the yearly Mr. Payson pageant in the actor’s honor, and even organizing an essay competition to get Bacon to come.
Students assisted in assembling 5,000 care packages for SixDegrees as part of a community-wide drive to collaborate with the actor’s charity.
Additionally, the actor assisted roughly 700 schoolchildren and 300 community members in packing care packages on Saturday.
He told the youngsters, “You talked me into it.”
“Seeing that level of dedication to anything is admirable.
