“We have heard threats from all sides since the strike in Beirut,” he said in a live speech.
“We are prepared for any scenario and we will stand united and determined.”
Antonio Guterres, the secretary-general of the UN, issued a warning about a “dangerous escalation” of hostilities in the area.
The military wing of Hamas declared that the loss of Haniyeh, who was generally seen as the group’s supreme commander, would “take the battle to new dimensions” and have significant consequences.
