On July 6, last year, a Land Rover crashed through a fence and struck a building at The Study Prep school in Camp Road, southwest London, which was having an end-of-term tea party. Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau perished in the collision.
After their families expressed “concerns” that the 4×4 driver, Claire Freemantle, had experienced an epileptic seizure while operating a vehicle and would not be charged with a crime, the force initiated a review.
The families praised the news that the investigation is being revisited, but stated that they were still “unconvinced” that it was carried out completely.
I genuinely hope that this continuous horror for all of the families and Selena’s classmates can end soon, Selena’s mother, Jessie Deng, stated.
According to a statement from the Met, the case will now be reopened because the evaluation found several avenues of inquiry that need more research.
This news has been communicated to the families, and we will keep meeting with them to provide them updates on the investigation’s progress.
