Lidia Thorpe, an Australian legislator, appears to be in hot water after heckling King Charles during the monarch’s visit to the parliament.
Australia’s parliament censured the Indigenous MP on Monday for heckling King Charles, according to an AFP report.
With 12 votes against and 46 votes in favor, the Senate passed censure.
When the king was in parliament, Lidia Thorpe said, “This is not your land, you are not my king.”
Thorpe’s actions were deemed “disruptive and disrespectful” in the censure petition.
Thorpe’s participation in any delegation “during the life of this parliament” was no longer considered “appropriate” by the Senate, according to the statement.
Last month, King Charles and Queen Camilla traveled to Samoa and Australia.
They finished their nine-day journey through Samoa and Australia.
