After receiving medical care in India for a month, 16-year-old Ayan, who was shot in the spine during an incident in Karachi and became paraplegic, has returned to Pakistan.
In an effort to aid in his recovery, physicians performed a number of tests and evaluations on Ayan while he was in India for spinal treatment. But after receiving medical attention for a month, he was returned to Pakistan, while his mother stayed in India because she had an Indian passport.
In the hopes that it might provide a chance for recovery, Ayan’s father revealed that they had been saving money for months in order to pay for the therapy in India. Ayan was sent back to Pakistan in spite of their expectations because the Indian treatment was unable to offer a lasting remedy.
