An American man has entered a guilty plea to the charge of planning vicious rooster fights in the US state of Rhode Island, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and fines exceeding Rs70 million.
According to the US Department of Justice, Providence resident Onill Vazquez Lozada acknowledged owning and funding lethal cockfights in 2021 and 2022.
According to officials, these were not your typical village games. The birds’ natural spurs were replaced with razor blades tied to their legs, just above their feet, and they were made to battle until they died or one of them gave up.
