KARACHI: It is disturbing to learn that during the last 132 days, collisions involving heavy vehicles have claimed the lives of at least 110 persons in Karachi; the most recent of these incidents happened on the Northern Bypass.
Three people were killed after a speeding dumper struck a car close to the bypass, according to the police. Sulaiman, his son Usama, and their relative Faraz were named as the victims. Following the collision, the dumper driver abandoned the truck and ran away.
At Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the deceased’s relatives told reporters that all three fatalities came from the same home.
At the time of the fatal crash, they were traveling from the Northern Bypass to Gulshan-e-Maymar. It had only been two months after Faraz’s marriage.
