Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, has declared that the moon for the holy month of Muharram has been sighted.
According to the statement, Youm-e-Ashura (10th Muharram) would be observed on July 6 since the first day of Muharram 1447 Hijri falls on June 27 (Friday).
The provincial capitals of Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Peshawar hosted zonal sessions of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
To ascertain whether the Muharram 1447 AH moon was sighted, a central committee meeting was conducted in Quetta at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex. Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad chaired the meeting.
