KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has expressed displeasure over the failure to remove VCs accused of sexual harassment despite significant efforts and emphasized the necessity of appointing VCs with administrative expertise at institutions.
He said these things at the Sindh Higher Education Commission’s 4th Research and Technology Showcase 2025, which was held at Expo.
The event showcased Sindh’s innovative technological and research capabilities with 41 institutions from all around the province showcasing 417 ground-breaking research projects and inventions.
He mentioned that a PhD is a minimum requirement for the role and clarified that vice-chancellors are chosen by a Search Committee.
The cabinet made the decision in light of the terrible administrative circumstances in public sector universities that are about to fail.
