According to a letter seen by News, UK Hospitality CEO Kate Nicholls urged City Hall, the ASLEF, and the RMT unions to work out an agreement that would prevent the strikes that are scheduled to start this week.
According to Transport for London, Underground services will be disrupted for ten days, until November 13, if the strikes continue.
In response to what they claim are insufficient wages and working conditions for Tube drivers and other network employees, unions have called for the strikes.
Ms. Nicholls claimed that past strikes had cost the economy up to £50 million every day in a letter addressed to ASLEF chief Mick Whelan, RMT general secretary Mick Lynch, and deputy mayor for transport Seb Dance.
Many companies in London anticipate that November and December will account for up to 40% of their yearly sales.
