During the Electoral Dysfunction podcast, Baroness Davidson informed Beth Rigby that Kemi Badenoch and Robert Jenrick, the final two candidates, shown their ability to “make mistakes” at the recent Conservative Party conference.
The former head of the Scottish Conservatives also disclosed that she cast her vote for James Cleverly, the former foreign and home secretary who was eliminated from the contest on Wednesday due to allegations of vote-buying.
Baroness Davidson stated that she believed Mr. Cleverly will be appointed to a position in the shadow cabinet.
She said on the show, “I think almost because it’s such a small parliamentary group, they will all have to have jobs.”

Right-wing candidates Ms. Badenoch and Mr. Jenrick received 42 and 41 votes, respectively.
Senior Conservative lawmakers think that some of Mr. Cleverly’s supporters “went rogue” and cast votes for Mr. Jenrick in an ineffective attempt to remove Ms. Badenoch from the contest.
