Over 82,000 concertgoers attended the event, which included surprise visits by Nicole Kidman and Randy Travis in addition to performances by James Taylor, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, Bailey Zimmerman, Scotty McCreery, Chase Rice, The Avett Brothers, and Parmalee.
The charity performance, which Combs and Church put together in less than a month, was hosted by Marty Smith and Caleb Pressley of Barstool Sports and was held at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In addition to performing multiple times during the evening, Eric Church also made a significant announcement in a video that was shown on it.
The Granite Falls, North Carolina-born country music artist disclosed that Chief Cares has a plan to construct 100 homes for residents of North Carolina whose homes were destroyed by the hurricane.
“I’m from the North Carolina mountains,” Church stated in the video message. “That’s what shaped me. I call it home. Without the individuals there and their impact on me, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. If it weren’t for the individuals there and their impact on me, I wouldn’t be doing the music that I do.
