The 36-year-old played his whole career for Philadelphia, where he helped the team win the NFL championship in 2018 and return to the championship game in 2023.
A sixth-round selection by the Eagles in 2011, Kelce is currently considered one of the greatest centers in NFL history.
He sobbed as he started a more than 40-minute speech and did not stop crying.
“I am very proud knowing where I was once was and the legacy I have left behind,” he stated.
After the Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs the previous season, Kelce denied having made the decision to retire in January, claiming he needed more time.
