During a panel discussion for her production firm Hello Sunshine’s annual Shine Away event, Reese Witherspoon, 48, teamed up with Laura Dern and Octavia Spencer. She recalled having to “make decisions” both at home and in business.
In response to the question of whether she could pinpoint a particular moment in her life when she “found” her voice, Witherspoon said that “so many moments” sprang to her and that her Hello Sunshine banner served as inspiration.
Witherspoon said, “because every woman in this room has saved herself,” explaining that one of the reasons she adores the organization is that “we seek for tales where women saved themselves,” whether from a “financial position, an academic issue, a horrible relationship.
Everybody experiences a point in their lives when they realize that nobody is coming to aid them or to make that decision.

“For me, I have to make that decision,” Witherspoon continued. Those have happened to me quite a bit. In my late 20s, I became a single mother and had to make many financial and parenting decisions for my two children.
