Nine persons, including a policeman, were hurt in a strong explosion that happened next to a police vehicle on Quetta’s Eastern Bypass, according to police reports.
The detonation happened early this morning and sent shockwaves around the region. It was purportedly produced by a remote-controlled device.
The explosive device, according to the authorities, was mounted on a motorcycle that was parked close to the road.
The police car and a rickshaw adjacent suffered significant damage as a result of the explosion. As soon as rescue personnel arrived on the scene, they moved the injured people to a nearby hospital. It is said that one of the injured is in critical condition.
The area has been blocked off by law enforcement and security personnel, and an inquiry into the incident has begun.
