He is the next in a line of performers that includes Sir Paul, the inaugural laureate some 20 years ago, Kate Bush, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, and Annie Lennox.
Springsteen will accompany the Beatle on stage for his renowned Glastonbury headline concert in 2022; the two are close friends.
On stage, Sir Paul remarked, “Like Bruce’s concerts, I’m going to keep this brief,” alluding to The Boss’s.
