Awais Leghari, the federal minister of energy, declared that the government had no plans to run power plants or distribution businesses (Discos).
Leghari stated his opinions as follows: “We have a clear policy in line with the privatization.” The contracts with independent power producers (IPPs) will be examined.
“I have given instructions to negotiate with the IPPs to review the agreements,” Leghari stated.
“The government has already issued orders to re-evaluate contracts with independent energy producers,” he stated.
Gohar Ejaz demands that contracts with IPPs be reviewed.
In the meantime, in an attempt to lead the nation toward prosperity, former interior minister Gohar Ejaz emphasized on Wednesday the significance of examining the agreements with the independent power producers (IPP).
