On Wednesday, the Punjab government made the decision to impose the one-dish rule strictly, extending its use to weddings hosted in private residences and farmhouses.
Growing worries about the financial strain on parents, especially those from lower-income families, prompted the decision.
Furthermore, the chief minister of Punjab had stated that he strongly disapproved of the one-dish policy’s infractions.
He emphasized that having several dishes at a wedding simply put needless financial hardship on families, particularly those with little money.
“If any violations occur, the responsible deputy commissioner will be held accountable,” the chief minister declared.
