Authorities said on Monday that a gun attack at a checkpoint in the Pishin district claimed the lives of two Levies officials.
Yasir Ilyas and Abdul Qadeer, two Levies employees, were killed when unknown armed attackers opened fire on the Levies checkpoint on the Kali Malizai road, according to the police.
After the event, the attackers left the scene.
After undergoing the required processes, the bodies of the dead Levies officials were returned to their relatives at a nearby hospital.
Officials from the Pishin administration raced to the scene as soon as the incident was reported, roped off the area, and began a search and arrest mission to find the attackers.
Mohsin Naqvi, federal interior minister, paid tribute and vehemently denounced the attack on the Levies checkpoint in Quetta.
