Companyman Umar Farooq Zahoor has sued a Norwegian newspaper for slander after it published a piece implying that he was considered for the Hilal-e-Imtiaz because of his involvement in the Toshakhana case against Imran Khan.
Zahoor has filed a lawsuit against the tabloid Verdens Gang (VG) and its reporter Rolf John Wideroe, alleging xenophobia, racism, and Islamophobia, according to an article in The News.
According to a story in the Express Tribune cited in the VG article, Zahoor received this accolade for “exposing” the Toshakhan case.
In 2022, Zahoor made an appearance on television to assert that he had purchased a Graff watch from Imran Khan, which had been given to him as a present by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. Khan later received a jail sentence.
