Following an attack at the Gulistan-e-Johar police station by “80 scrap dealers” that left two of its workers injured, police on Friday detained six suspects.
Eighty individuals linked to the scrap business carried out the attack, according to the police and the news. They said that stone-pelting and other forms of torture had injured a police constable and an assistant sub-inspector.
According to them, three individuals were detained for selling stolen goods, and the scrap merchants then attacked police officers.
They claimed that six of the attackers had been taken into custody and that the remaining attackers had fled. They claimed that “Iqbal Rind, the president of the scrap dealers’ association, led the attack to get the suspects released from the police station.” In order to chase the attackers away, police officers used a baton charge.
