Tommy Dorfman, a transgender actress best known for her performance in “13 Reasons Why,” ignited a contentious debate on social media when she claimed that workers at Delta Air Lines, specifically “Tristan,” had purposefully misrepresented their gender at LaGuardia Airport in New York City.
The film, which depicted the difficulties transgender people encounter in public settings, immediately gained widespread popularity.
After coming out as a transgender woman in the media in 2021, Dorfman confronted several Delta workers, one of whom went by the name “Tristan,” for repeatedly purposefully misgendering people.
“When you approach @delta to speak up for yourself and get even more transphobia and threats of arrest at LaGuardia. The video recording a portion of the interview was posted on TikTok, and Dorfman remarked, “Tristan, the employee, said he was fine with me posting this.”
