ISLAMABAD Century Steel Group, a massive Chinese steel company, has threatened to stop operating in Pakistan and remove its investment if its demands are not fulfilled.
This was communicated to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by the steel group in a letter.
The CEO of Century Steel Group, Li Chunjian, wrote that the company had decided to close its doors and remove its investments from the nation because the government agencies in charge of managing foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (RSEZ) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), had not been able to address a number of their issues.
“This is our final warning to the Pakistani government if the issues are not fixed right away.
