More than a million new users have joined Bluesky, which is a big change from X, which was formerly known as Twitter.
According to warnings from the EU and anti-hate groups, users are abandoning X because they are unhappy with the platform under Elon Musk’s leadership and are becoming increasingly concerned about false information.
Bluesky now has over 15 million users, up from 9 million in September. Former CEO Jack Dorsey first started Bluesky as a project within Twitter with the goal of developing a “open and decentralized standard for social media.”
Bluesky, which is now a separate company under the direction of CEO Jay Graber, provides tools that let users select algorithms and personalize their feeds for a more individualized experience.
The platform’s strong moderation is what makes it appealing.
