Under the direction of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the Election Commission of Pakistan convened a critical meeting on Wednesday to deliberate on the recent ruling on reserved seats by the Supreme Court.
According to sources, the main objective of the conference was to evaluate the brief order that the Supreme Court had issued on September 14th, notably with reference to the distribution of reserved seats.
The ECP also discussed the laws that Parliament had passed pertaining to these seats.
After the talks, the ECP determined that before moving forward with any further action, it would be best to consult legal specialists regarding the parliamentary legislation.
To continue its discussions, the commission has set a second meeting for this Thursday.
