In opposition to having a sequence from her movie Poor Things altered for a UK release, Emma Stone has mounted a formidable case.
The 35-year-old actress played the title role in the movie, which was about a quirky scientist named Bella Baxter who is revived in Victorian-era London.
Emma made her remark following reports that the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed comedy caused trouble for the British Board of Film Classification before it was released.
The committee takes issue with a contentious scenario in which a man employs Emma to instruct his two young sons about her profession as an escort.
“Bella is completely free and without shame about her body,” she said in a recent interview with BBC Radio 4. It is undoubtedly a significant aspect of her development and experience,
“But I see it as just one aspect of many,” Emma continued, referring to her discoveries in philosophy, cuisine, travel, and dancing. S** is an additional feature.
Furthermore, the Lala Land actress asserted that she “not being camera shy” was her way of honoring Bella’s role.
“My goal is to honor the character to the best of my ability, rather than just wanting to be nude all the time. That is a component of her journey, Emma emphasized.
