ISLAMABAD Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the relevant authorities to take decisive action against human trafficking that brings shame to Pakistan in the wake of the Greek boat tragedy that cost the lives of five Pakistani citizens.
The premier urged for tough punishment against those responsible for trafficking innocent individuals to other nations while presiding over a conference to address the incident’s death toll among Pakistani nationals and the steps being taken to prevent human trafficking. He also requested a report on the human trafficking cases involving Pakistani nationals that occurred in the previous 12 months.
More than 80 Pakistanis, including children, were on board the tragic ships that sunk on Saturday close to the European nation, according to confirmation made by Ambassador to Greece Aamar Aftab Qureshi a day earlier.
