DUBAI: Following threats of force from US President Donald Trump against Tehran if it failed to engage in nuclear program negotiations, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Wednesday that Iran should advance its military, especially its missiles.
Khamenei’s remarks came a day after Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s ambassador to the UN, denounced Trump’s “reckless and inflammatory statements” in interviews with the New York Post and news, where he claimed he would rather make a deal to stop Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon than bomb the nation.
“We cannot be satisfied (with our current level), thus progress should not be stopped. Let’s say we had previously put a limit on our missiles’ accuracy, but we now believe it is insufficient.
