The 43-year-old singer arrived via video link from Antwerp, Belgium, wearing a black collared shirt. He pleaded not guilty to driving while inebriated.
Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace also chastised the musician’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., for making “irresponsible” remarks at the previous court hearing, saying they “come off as an attempt to poison the case before it even begins,” according to News.
The judge even threatened to impose a gag order if the lawyer continued to make similar remarks.
Mr Burke has claimed that Timberlake was not drunk and that the case should be dismissed.
The facts remain that he was not inebriated,” Mr Burke stated on Friday, according to Newsday.
I’ll say it again: Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated, and we are certain that the criminal prosecution will be dismissed.
Timberlake was detained in the early hours of June 18, after police said he failed to stop at a stop sign and couldn’t stay in his lane while driving on Long Island, New York.
