The Justice Department will file a lawsuit against New York Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Attorney General Letitia Ann James, and the state of New York over their immigration policies, according to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Bondi said that “illegal aliens” are given preference over U.S. residents under New York’s Green Light law.
The lawsuit appeared to be a civil action, but she added that the Justice Department had “filed charges.” Reporters attending the news conference were not given copies of the lawsuit, and it was not easily found in federal court records on the internet.
