KARACHI: As the sit-ins against the Parachinar crisis entered their ninth day, the Sindh government on Wednesday made a “final offer” to the protesting religio-political party to relocate to a designated location or face action, following clashes between police and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) protesters in various locations throughout the city the previous day.
“The government will establish its writ in any case […] we cannot allow unrest in the city,” Zia Lanjar, the home minister of Sindh, stated at a press conference with Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon.
The MWM’s central sit-in at Numaish, where party activists have been staging the demonstration since December 24 to show support for the people of Parachinar and Kurram Agency, was broken up by the authorities a day earlier.
