Space.com said that NASA is getting ready to concentrate on Mars as the highly anticipated solar maximum prepares to shower radiation over the solar system’s celestial entities.
The MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) satellite and the Curiosity rover, two spacecraft that will help astronauts learn more about Mars and direct future missions there, will also examine the impact of solar radiation on the planet.
The sun’s activity peaks during solar maximum, when its magnetic field changes and solar flares burst forth, spewing intense radiation that may cause an Earthly blackout of radio and communications.
Every eleven years, the sun reaches its maximum.
The charged particles that come from space also generate the northern lights, or aurora borealis.
