In response to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives, the government has sent revised rules to airports nationwide in response to the ongoing international outcry over the monkeypox virus.
The Border Health Services states that in order to protect public health, screening and preventive measures should be strengthened at all entrance sites.
The Federal Investigation Agency has been given the power, in light of recently developed protocols, to cease issuing visas upon arrival to any foreign nationals unless they have successfully completed a health clearance aimed at identifying monkeypox symptoms so that no such carrier could enter the nation.
The health authorities will monitor and take appropriate measures upon receiving all information regarding arriving travelers from the FIA Immigration department.
