Officers have published surveillance photographs of two people, one wearing a blue tank top and the other everything pink, including a pink shower cap.
Just after midnight on September 12, the two climbed on an empty train that was parked at the Queens Briarwood subway station, and they managed to start it, according to authorities.
Police said they smashed it into another parked train and fled.
After being taken into custody, a 17-year-old girl was accused of reckless endangerment and criminal misconduct.
The male companion, who the police suspect was also aboard the train, is currently being sought after.
