Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar of the Supreme Court asked on Wednesday why the 21st Amendment to the Constitution did not abolish military courts.
The intra-court appeal against civilians being tried in military courts was heard by the judge, who is a member of the seven-person constitutional bench presided over by Justice Aminuddin Khan.
During the hearing, attorney Latif Khosa, who was representing Aitzaz Ahsan, disputed claims made by Salman Akram Raja the day before, claiming that Raja was also his attorney. He claimed that although he completely supported Justice Munib Akhtar’s ruling and had not given Raja any such orders, Raja had objected to it.
Raja, meanwhile, stated that he stuck by his views from the previous day and stressed that he had only objected to one phrase of Justice Munib’s ruling.
