On suspicion of being a Russian spy, a senior member of Ukraine’s intelligence service (SBU) has been placed under custody.
According to Ukrainian media citing SBU sources, the guy is Col. Dmytro Kozyura. The service did not identify him but claimed he was the chief of staff of its anti-terrorism center.
Vasyl Malyuk, the head of SBU, was seen by the local media handcuffing him during his detention.
According to a statement, the suspect—whom it called a “rat”—collected and sent material to Russia in at least 14 different cases. According to the SBU, the inquiry included access to computers and mobile phones, as well as audio and video monitoring.
Ukraine has declared multiple operations to reveal Russian involvement since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
