In August, Pakistan’s textile exports achieved a 26-month high of $1.64 billion, a 13% rise over the same month the previous year.
This increase is attributed to the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SIFC) work and encouraging government policies.
According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, textile exports in August of last year totaled $1.46 billion.
A number of sectors saw notable increase, with ready-made garment exports increasing by 28% and knitwear and bedwear exports increasing by 15% annually.
Political unrest in Bangladesh and international sanctions against China, according to analysts, have strengthened Pakistan’s strategic position in the global textile industry and forced importers to look for alternatives.
