The Punjab government has chosen to hire private businesses to handle the operation rooms at public hospitals in place of ultrasonography and CT scan scanners. The goal of this choice is to raise the standard and effectiveness of surgical care provided throughout the province.
The new idea has been communicated to the government hospital management by the Punjab government. The operating rooms in these hospitals will be managed by for-profit medical corporations under this arrangement.
The contract’s scope encompasses the installation and administration of sophisticated surgical apparatus, including equipment for arthroscopy, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and endo-urology.
Private companies will equip the operating rooms with cutting-edge equipment to update the surgical facilities.
It is anticipated that this update will greatly improve public hospitals’ capacity for diagnosis and treatment, giving patients access to cutting-edge medical treatments.
For this project, the Punjab Health Department has asked commercial companies for recommendations. The payment mechanism for the private enterprises will be performance-based, with the amount of compensation determined by the quantity of operations completed. This strategy seeks to reward effectiveness and superior care in the operating rooms.
