ISLAMABAD On Sunday, the Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) released a detailed study of the General Election 2024 voter turnout in honor of National Voters Day.
In addition to making comparisons with previous general elections, the Fafen paper ‘GE-2024: Brief on Assessing Demographic and Gender Turnout Dynamics’ offers a thorough analysis of voter trends, including the participation of men and women, according to The News.
According to the study, GE-2024 saw the largest turnout of any general election, with 61,282,920, or 61.28 million voters.
However, even though the electoral rolls increased by an unprecedented 22.5 million voters between these two polls, the percentage of voters who cast ballots decreased to 48% in this election compared to 52% in 2018.
