A young girl named Rosie heroically battled off a snake in an adorable yet horrifying backyard incident in Australia to save her guinea pig, MaxiBon.
After Rosie’s uncle Kip Wightman posted the video on social media and it received over 8,800 views, the incident went viral online, according to People.
In the video, Rosie is shown running about her house looking for her pet guinea pig. To her horror, she discovers MaxiBon in the mouth of a large snake.
The 12-year-old girl grabs the snake’s tail without thinking twice and begins spinning it in a circle in the hopes of getting it to drop her pet.
Rosie was able to save her beloved little companion MaxiBon when the snake finally released its hold on him thanks to her bravery and fast thinking.
Rosie said she just followed her instincts, speaking to 7News Australia. “I didn’t even give it much thought. I just said, ‘Grab the snake, grab the snake.'”
Luke Wightman, Rosie’s father, who stepped in to get his daughter out of the predicament, described finding his daughter “holding [the snake] like a hammer thrower.”
After saving Rosie’s pet, they hurled the snake over their garden wall, according to Storyful.
Wightman told the Australian site, “I realized that wasn’t ideal [for the neighbours], so I chased after it and watched it slither away unharmed although a little dizzy.”
Although he identified the snake as a 2.5-meter python, it is still unknown what species it is.
After the event, Rosie “is doing amazing,” according to Wightman, who also expressed her relief that MaxiBon survived.
