Hezbollah, the most potent armed group in Lebanon, supported Hamas by firing guided rockets and shells into Israel the day following the Hamas attack. This led to Israeli drone and artillery reprisal.
Could a traumatized and vulnerable Israel determine that it must neutralize the threat posed by Lebanon, its northern border, with a prime minister struggling for political survival?
The concern has been that Hezbollah, which shares Hamas’ goal of destroying the Jewish state, may lure Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration to launch a second front in the conflict. If so, would it attract Iran, the main ally of Hezbollah?

The main concern ever since the Israel-Gaza war broke out on October 7 as a result of a Hamas attack is that the fighting may turn into something much more deadly.
