In honor of Iqbal Day, many have questioned whether the government will declare November 9 a public holiday or not. By Sunday, the government had not announced the holiday in any way.
The administration declared November 9 to be a public holiday last year.
Allama Iqbal, who was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877, became a prominent personality in the subcontinent and was instrumental in the Pakistan movement.
Iqbal, a contemporary Sufi poet, used his powerful poetry to instill a sense of revolt throughout the country. His writings have been translated into English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and other languages, making him a well-known philosopher worldwide.
Unfortunately, Iqbal passed away before seeing Pakistan’s independence.
