Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan’s first female prime minister, was assassinated seventeen years ago, yet the whole reason for her untimely demise is still unknown.
Even though the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been in power almost three times during this time, the public has not yet received an explanation for the murder.
After speaking at a gathering at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on the evening of December 27, 2007, Benazir was assassinated. She was killed, and the country was shocked when bullets and a massive explosion pursued her as she left the venue.
Over the years, a number of people and organizations have been charged, including police officers Saud Aziz and Khurram, former president General Pervez Musharraf, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) founder Baitullah Mehsud, and al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
