Speaking backstage at the London Ivor Novello Awards, the video game celebrity had just been awarded a special trophy honoring her career and contribution.
When asked if she would write a Bond theme in the future, she retorted, “I mean, how has that not happened?”
Then, she said, “I wrote that for them,” as she launched into the chorus of her song 24, which is off the album Honeymoon.
The song would have been considered for Daniel Craig’s fourth role as Spectre, 007, considering the date of release.
Sam Smith, who won an Oscar for their song Writing’s On the Wall, eventually recorded the theme.
